According to the official statement, Salaythis Melvin had his hand on a gun, which was in his waistband and had turned his head. The statement does not say that Salaythis was aggressive. It does not say that Salaythis had the gun in his hand or that he pointed his gun at someone.
However, a video taken by a bodycam clearly shows that Salaythis was running away from the sherrif deputy. Where was the threat? It can't have been the fact that Salaythis had a gun. After all, the Second Amendment is the Amendment most staunchly defended in Florida and the rest of America. So where was threat?
While running for his life Salaythis Melvin was shot in the back five times.
