Natasha McKenna was a 37-year-old African-American woman from Alexandria, Virginia who was suffering from mental illness. On February 8th 2015 she was being held at the Fairfax County detention center for a warrant issued over a suspect attack on a police officer.
She was supposed to be transferred to a different jail. Fairfax County deputies handcuffed Natasha McKenna, shackled her legs and put a spit mask over her face. As if this was not already enough to move a 5'3'' woman out of her prison cell deputy Lt. Lucas Salzman also fired his stun gun on her four times.
After being tasered Natasha McKenna suffered a cardiac arrest and lost consciousness. She was put on life support at a hospital, but died shortly afterwards.
Natasha McKenna left behind a 7-year-old daughter. No charges were filed against Lucas Salzman.
