Lest We Forget

Heather Heyer1985-2017

On 12 August 2017 the American neo-nazi Jason Keller had organized a Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville to protest the removal of the statue of the racist Confederate General Robert E. Lee.

Heather Heyer was part of a group of counter-protesters who demonstrated for racial justice and against racism when James Alex Fields Jr. from Florence, Kentucky, drove his car into a group of the counter-protesters. Fields had for long harbored white supremacist views.

Fields was sentenced to life in prison.
